UPDATE: Police have arrested Christopher Blake Pham in connection to a homicide that happened early Sunday morning. Police have also released the victims name. He has been identified as Andrew Jay Guilfoyle.

CHARLOTTE, N.C.-- Police say they have a possible suspect in Charlotte's second murder of 2009.

A man was found shot to death inside a car in an East Charlotte neighborhood which doesn't normally see a lot of violence. Sandra Carpenter can remember just one murder in the 40 years she has lived on Attaberry Drive. “10, 15 years ago, we had a guy that got killed," says Carpenter. Now she has to add one more to the list. "It's just a sad, sad thing to me," says Carpenter.

Carpenter was asleep around 3:30 Sunday morning when something woke her up. "I actually did hear a noise. I actually thought it was a firecracker," she says.

Turns out those noises were gunshots coming from a home just down the street on Attaberry Drive.

"I heard some yelling and screaming, I heard one single gunshot and some more yelling," recalls neighbor Jeremy Stockman. Police say there was a fight beforehand. When they got to the home they found a man dead inside this white car. "Shocking, very shocking, nothing really happens that close.  You always see stuff on the news, but usually it's far away from you," says Stockman.

CMPD says the gunman and the victim knew each other so the crime was not random. "I'm upset about it...it's sad, it saddens me more than it angers me," says Carpenter. And she wonders what the rest of the new year will bring says, "I don't really think there's a safe neighborhood anymore."
