ROCK HILL, S.C. -- A Rock Hill man was arrested after police say he got
into a fight at a Rock Hill bar and struck a victim in the head causing
severe injury to the brain.
The incident happened at the Glory Days Lounge on N. Anderson Road
Saturday.
According to police, Matthew Yancy and Jeremy Mullinax were involved in
an altercation when Yancy struck Mullinax in the head.
Mullinax was transported to Piedmont Medical Center and was later
transferred to Carolinas Medical Center. He is listed in critical but
stable condition.
Sewage spills into Reed Creek
MOORESVILLE -- Thousands of gallons of raw sewage spilled into Reed
Creek Sunday morning after clog at a pumping station.
An alarm at the Reed Creek pumping station sounded around 11 a.m.
Crews discovered that the two pumps were clogged with rags and cloth
material.
“The shredder system functioned as designed but the shear volume of
material was more than the pumps could handle at one time,” said Wilce
Martin, Director of Utilities, “It took four hours to repair once we
detected the problem and made the necessary repairs.”
Mandatory tests are underway. Visual observation of Lake Norman was
good Monday morning.
81 pounds of marijuana seized

CHERRYVILLE -- Cherryville police arrested a man Sunday after police found 81 pounds of marijuana in the back of his van.
Police were called to the Tobacco House on W. Church Street in reference to a suspicious person call.
When officers arrived they found a blue 1988 Chevrolet van driven by Pioquinto Rodriguez Garcia. Officers checked out the van and spotted plastic bags and cellophane bricks of marijuana.
Police said they seized 81 pounds of marijuana in 11 bricks along with $255. Estimated street value was $200,000.
Garcia, 23, was placed in the Gaston County Jail under $150,0000 secured bond.
