After a last week’s appearance on ‘American Idol’ some are saying Albemarle native Kellie Pickler looks more like her idol Dolly Parton.

Pickler returned Thursday night to the show that made her famous. She not only sang her new single “I Wonder,” she also debuted a new look. Pickler wore a low-cut blue dress and sported a shorter hairdo and curls.

From the New York Post saying it’s the worst makeover in history to Access Hollywood’s segment dubbed "Pickler's New Pair?", everyone is talking about Pickler’s makeover.

New York Post columnist Linda Stasi wrote, “Kellie. Kellie. Kellie. They've made you unrecognizable - from the old lady bouffant to the giant new set of boobs to a backside the size of a Hummer stuffed into a dress that would make an anorexic runway model look fat. It's all bad.”

In an interview with Extra, judge Simon Cowell said, “It’s like she’d gone to Dolly Parton school or something. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life.”

In an online comment posted on WCNC.com, one wrote, "Kellie Pickler is a natural beauty and looks good no matter what she does."

Pickler’s friend from Albemarle, Summer Holt Miller, said in a previous interview with WCNC that Kellie has always admired Dolly.

“She finally got to meet her idol and was so excited about that," Miller said.

Picker sang a song about her mother on last Thursday night live ‘Idol’ results show. Before her performance she chatted on stage live with host Ryan Seacrest.

"Have you spent your money on anything since you left us?" asked Seacrest.

"Shoes... imagine that," said Pickler, who is a self professed shoe addict.

"Just shoes?" Seacrest asked.
