BURKE COUNTY, N.C. -- There's more fallout in Burke County over the school board's effort to fire Superintendent David Burleson.

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools is planning an on-site investigation. It will send a team to Burke County in august.

The SACS says this is the first investigation of its kind in North Carolina in at least five years.

The investigation is centered around complaints against the board, which tried to terminate Burleson's contract a year early.

Burleson won a court battle keeping him on the job until his contract expires next year.
