CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are searching for a teenager who has been missing for almost two weeks.

Earl Terrell Tisdale

Earl Terrell Tisdale was last seen at his apartment in the Citiside community on June 17.

Tisdale's family says the teen recently moved to Charlotte from New York.

Tisdale's mother flew to Charlotte on Monday to plead for the public's help in finding her 19-year-old son. She said she relatives in the area told her Tisdale was missing.

She also said the relatives received calls saying Tisdale had been shot and his body dumped in the woods.

"A lot of disturbing phone calls about someone had shot him with an AK-47, a .40 caliber gun. There's so much conflicting information right now, so I don't know what to believe," said Glenda Silver.

Police say right now nothing indicates foul play, but Tisdale's disappearance is an ongoing investigation. Officers searched the area around Tisdale's apartment on Monday but did not find any clues that would lead to his whereabouts.

Tisdale is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs 170 pounds, wears his hair in braids and has a scar under his left eye.

Anyone who sees him should call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
