Man says he's not guilty of child porn charges 6:28 AM

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A former Boy Scout chaplain who is facing child pornography charges spoke briefly to WCNC after a court hearing Tuesday.
Charles Knight told reporters he was not guilty.
"That's all I’m going to say. Please, please, I’m old. I’m sick. I’m tired. I got to go home," Knight said.
Knight was arrested on Monday and released from jail on bond Tuesday.
In the course of a day, Knight went from being highly thought of in his church community, to someone with a serious legal problem.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department investigator Kim Brewington worked on the case for two weeks.
"We received information about a week or so ago from a concerned citizen about something that he had seen at this residence," Brewington said.
That information led police to Knight's home where they took his computer and arrested him on child porn charges.
The 62-year-old man claims he was a Boy Scout chaplain for more than 50 years and is active with the youth ministry at a church in Gastonia.
Police don't have any evidence to suggest Knight harmed children, but they can't rule it out and are looking for parents or potential victims to give them a call.
"I’m a gentle person," Knight said. "Please, let's not make this any worse. After this is over I’ll answer any question you have."
Investigators say Knight’s association with the Boy Scouts ended four to five years ago.
The pastor of the church in Gastonia said he is confident nothing happened at his church because a strict policy forbids adults from being alone with any child at any time.
