CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- She went on stage dressed as a tick and pulled a second prank on country music star Brad Paisley in Charlotte by placing live chickens at his feet. Paisley got revenge on Kellie Pickler this past weekend by poking fun at her plastic surgery.
According to a post on BradPaisley.com, before Pickler hit the stage in front of a sold out crowd in in Camden, NJ Paisley ran a new show intro on the big screens.
The video, now available on You Tube, shows doctored photos of Pickler before and after plastic surgery. The video is titled “You Be The Judge” and plays off the subject that many are debating: Did Kellie Pickler get plastic surgery?
“You're the one that has to look at yourself every day and it’s important that you're happy with what you see,” Pickler told WCNC during an exclusive interview in May. “You can't worry about what everyone else thinks because you cannot please everyone.”
Pickler was apparently a great sport about the video, according to Paisley’s web site. It states she quickly retaliated by coming on stage, during Paisley’s acoustic set, dressed in a trench coat. She reportedly opened the coat and flashed Brad saying, “You be the judge.” To which Brad replied, no pun intended, “In my line of work, there are definitely….perks.”
Pickler has been with Paisley on his “Bonfires and Amplifiers Tour” along with Taylor Swift and Jack Ingram. Aware of Paisley’s prankster reputation, Pickler decided she would prank him first.
WCNC got an exclusive interview with Pickler and witnessed the prank firsthand during a May concert in Moline, Illinois.
With Paisley on stage performing his hit song, “Ticks,” Pickler, Swift and Ingram set their prank into action.
Pickler and Swift put on oversized, head-to-toe, brown tick costumes, giving themselves names such as “Taylor Tick” and “Kellie Tickler.”
Ingram dressed up as an exterminator equipped with fake pesticide spray.
The three ran on stage and began dancing to the song. Shortly after falling to the floor, Ingram sprayed the “ticks” with pesticide. It was quite a production, and left the audience laughing.
“I think he’ll think it's funny, but he’ll kill us,” Pickler said before the prank.
When asked about the prank, Paisley laughs.
“I was, first of all, just hoping that no one thought that was part of the show,” Paisley said. “Kellie is absolutely a hoot; you guys raised one wild and crazy girl. We are having a ball with her. Everybody’s falling in love with her.”
Pickler pulled her second prank of the tour in Charlotte. With her hair in pigtails and dressed in overalls, Pickler walked on stage as Paisley sang “Dixieland Delight”, the song made famous by the group Alabama. She placed several live chickens at his feet as Paisley sat on a stool. At the end Paisley told the crowd, “Just so you know they’re not part of the show.”
Rumors of plastic surgery surfaced in early March when Pickler returned for a performance on ‘American Idol’. She not only sang her new single “I Wonder,” she also looked completely different than her days when she was on the show. Pickler wore a low-cut blue dress and sported a shorter hairdo and curls.
Before her performance she chatted on stage live with host Ryan Seacrest.
"Have you spent your money on anything since you left us?" asked Seacrest.
"Shoes... imagine that," said Pickler, who is a self professed shoe addict.
"Just shoes?" Seacrest asked.
“I don't take any of that personal when people criticize me about the way I look,” Pickler told WCNC. “You know what? If you don't have anything better to talk about than my rack...can I say rack? … It doesn’t bother me a bit. As long as I'm happy with Kellie than that’s most important.”
