CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- High pressure will be the dominant weather maker Monday with highs around 90 degrees and mostly sunny skies.

Monday afternoon there is a chance for  isolated thunderstorms late in the afternoon. We are not anticipating a widespread rain event.

A cold front moves through late Tuesday, which will bring us showers and thunderstorms late in the day and throughout the day Wednesday.

Temperatures will fall into the upper 70s by the middle of the work week.

Another cold front arrives on Friday, which will give us a chance for showers and thunderstorms through Saturday.

Hurricane Ike will make landfall on the United States by Friday. As of now, it is heading to the Gulf states and we could see remnants by early next week.

Stay with the First Warn Storm Team as we track Hurricane Ike throughout the week.
