Sgt. Roy comes home

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- One of Charlotte's own is at home with his family tonight. Sgt. Roy Lewis has taken us inside Iraq with his video diaries and blogs.

Now, he is back home for a 15-day leave. He's been traveling since Monday, to Kuwait to Ireland to Atlanta and finally to Charlotte.

WCNC cameras were there as Sgt. Roy arrived at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.

It was a touching moment as the other passengers waiting at the gate broke into a spontaneous applause, thanking him for doing his duty.

Sgt. Roy will return to Baghdad in two weeks, and once he's there he has three more months on his tour of duty.
