MATTHEWS, N.C. -- Matthews police are searching for two thieves who went on a shopping spree with stolen debit cards.

Police say a man and woman stole a store clerk's purse on Aug. 23 and then used her debit cards at two different Target stores, buying more than $3,000 in merchandise.

Police released a surveillance image of the suspects, hoping to generate leads.
