CONCORD, N.C. -- A dozen residents were temporarily evacuated Sunday night after Concord police discovered a possible meth lab in an apartment.

Police say they were called to investigate a possible meth lab at 1020 Crown Point Circle, off Poplar Tent Road. The apartment’s tenants would not allow police into the unit, so they obtained a search warrant in order to search the apartment.

Inside, they found the ingredients and chemicals used to make methamphetamine, but there was no active processing of meth, police say. They also found recipes for making the drug and a small amount of LSD.

Matthew Strickland, 26, and Jacob Lanter, 28, were arrested on charges of possessing the precursors to making meth, and manufacturing of methamphetamine. Both suspects had bond set at $100,000.

Lanter's mother, who also lives at the apartment complex, reported her son to the police.

Twelve residents of surrounding apartments were temporarily evacuated as a precaution, and all tenants have since returned to their homes.
