Bitter cold temperatures

08:29 AM EDT on Wednesday, October 29, 2008

Brad Panovich / First Warn Storm Team Chief Meteorologist

Watch latest forecast

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Temperatures dipped below freezing this morning and it will get even colder tonight.

Some light winds this morning helped to mix things up just enough to keep us from bottoming out too far.

With high pressure moving overhead today temperatures will warm slightly into the mid and upper 50s. The high though will allow for calm winds and clear skies tonight and temperatures will dip way down into the upper 20s.

Things will slowly warm up by the end of the week back into the 60s, but the overnights will remain very chilly.
