Deputy crashes into home in Union County

MINERAL SPRINGS, N.C. -- A deputy was reportedly taken to the hospital after crashing into a home in Union County Friday afternoon.

The crash occurred at Pleasant Grove Road and South Potter Road in Mineral Springs.

The homeowner's daughter said the deputy had lights on when he swerved to avoid another car, left the roadway and struck the house.

The daughter says the deputy was taken to the hospital and believes weather played a role in the crash.
