HICKORY, N.C. -- Elisa Baker's attorney has filed paperwork for a plea deal in the federal case against her.
The documents were submitted on Monday.
Though that information is sealed, the public does know that Baker faces three federal drug charges. She is accused of selling pills in Catawba and Caldwell counties. Back in May a jury indicted Baker on seven counts of drug trafficking.
The combined charges could carry a 60-year jail sentence and a fine of $2.25 million.
Baker was sentenced to up to 18 years in prison for the murder of her disabled 10-year-old stepdaughter, Zahra Baker.
