HICKORY, N.C.-- Hickory police have turned over findings from the Zahra Baker investigation to the District Attorney's Office.

Hickory police Deputy Chief Clyde Deal said police sent a prosecution summary to District Attorney James Gaither Jr.'s office.

According to the Hickory Daily Record, Hickory police Chief Tom Adkins said the district attorney will review the information, a preliminary case file, to determine who will face charges and what those charges will be.

No one has been charged in the death of 10-year-old Zahra Baker, who was reported missing by her father Oct. 9. Her remains were later found scattered in rural areas.

Her stepmother, Elisa Baker, is being held in jail, charged with obstruction of justice after police said she wrote a bogus ransom note.
