CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A local non-profit agency that gives women the skills and the look to land a job has a new look of its own thanks to donations and volunteers.
"It's all about creating confidence -- confidence in the way you look and in the way you feel about yourself," said Sue Breckenridge with Dress for Success. "These are women who are in transition and they have worked very hard to get ready for an interview."
Pamela James was one of those women.
"I came through the doors and did not have employment," James said.
Now, with a new location, Dress for Success is hoping to help even more women. Their new home is quite a step up from their old.
"(It was) 853-square-feet. We served 500 people. We were using offices for dressing rooms," said Breckenridge.
But now they have more than 5,000-square-feet, including a computer lab.
"What's different here is that all of our clients have personal dressing rooms," said Breckenridge. "It looks like a store, like a high-end boutique."
It's a place where women can go shopping without spending a dime and walk away feeling like a million bucks.
"It's more than just a suit. It's an experience," said Breckenridge.
"They fit the outer you, but what shines through is the inner you," James said.
