CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Arnold Classic, one of the most prestigious titles in professional competition, will celebrate its 25th Anniversary this March 2, 2013 at Veterans Memorial in Columbus, Ohio.

The 2013 Arnold Schwarzenegger Armwrestling Challenge will test which of the world’s top athletes in arm sports has the most “pull” during the Arnold Sports Festival.

James Retarides is  a local arm-wrestling coach and has spent a lot of time training athletes in South Korea. He’s hoping to give them the opportunity to compete at the Armwrestling Challenge.

To do this, he recruited the Korean Student Association at UNC Charlotte.

This morning on Larry’s Look, James and Kevin Kang(from UNCC) joined us to talk about a big tournament that’s scheduled for January 19. It will be held on the campus and is open to the public.

The tournament is sanctioned and will feature some of the top competitors in the area.

Larry had the chance for some “serious” competition too!  Kent Buckalew is a former Special Forces and is currently one of the top arm wrestlers in the country.

He gave Larry the “edge” by wrestling left-handed, but to no avail.

For more details, call James Retarides at 203-804-7649.
