CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Rugby, it’s a sport that’s gaining a lot popularity in the Carolinas.

This weekend, more than 1,000 rugby players will be in Charlotte for the 10th Annual Carolina Youth Rugby Festival.

There will be 32 teams competing featuring some of the top players from all over the United States.

One of the highlights of the Rugby Festival is a big college game between Notre Dame College against Wheeling Jesuit University.

That’s Saturday night  at  Rocky River High School, gates will open at 5 p.m. and kick-off at 7:30 p.m.  All of the other games will be played at Elon Park Saturday and Sunday.

This morning on Larry’s Look, we got a quick course in rugby----scoring, positions, and some of the techniques.

Larry even jumped into the action!  He was part of a “scrum”.  That’s how play is re-started in the game of rugby.
