MONROE, N.C. -- There’s a very unique zoo in Monroe that features one of the biggest collections of amphibians, reptiles, and invertebrates on display in all places worldwide.
“Cold Blooded Encounters” has more than 150 various kinds of animals. It’s actually features one of the biggest collections of amphibians, reptiles, and invertebrates in the world.
The zoo was started by Sean Amidon, who was formerly with Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Sean has fire salamanders, jewel orchids, Kenyan sand boas, and whip scorpions--just to name a few of what you’ll find at “Cold Blooded Encounters."
This morning on Larry’s Look, Sean gave us a great tour of the zoo. Larry had quite an “adventure” with a hug frog! The kids at the zoo, who saw this, got a big kick out of the close encounter.
