CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Alan Thicke is an actor, comedian, songwriter, and game and talk show host. He is best known for his role as Jason Seaver, the patriarch on the ABC television series Growing Pains.

A lot of people don't know that he had a successful career as a TV theme song composer, which included the themes to the popular sitcoms Diff'rent Strokes and The Facts of Life.

He also wrote a number of TV game show themes, including The Wizard of Odds (for which he also sang the vocal introduction), The Joker's Wild, Celebrity Sweepstakes, The Diamond Head Game,, and the original theme to Wheel of Fortune.

This morning on Larry’s Look, Alan talked about his time as one of America’s favorite dads and how the Growing Pains cast is getting together for a big reunion this summer.

Larry also asked Thicke about his son, Robin---who’s a major hit maker and is on a national tour right now.

With three sons of his own, Alan has a new book about raising kids, “How to Raise Kids That Don’t Hate You”.

Larry talked to him about that project plus got some good tips on being a good parent.
