CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Charlotte area is known for great local theatre.

One of the best is the award-winning Davidson Community Players.  They’ve been around since the mid 60s, earning a reputation for excellence in their productions.

In 2011, they won North Carolina Theatre Conference's Community Theatre of the Year and were recognized by Metrolina Theatre Association in 2012 for Best Production and Best Direction for “Crazy for You” and Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress in “Rumors”.

They rank among the finest non-professional theatre companies in the Southeast, attracting theatre-goers from throughout the Carolinas, drawing an audience of thousands each year.

Their current production is the Tony-award winning musical comedy “Pajama Game”.  It’s a love story set in the middle of a labor strike at a pajama factory.

The show includes familiar tunes like “Hey There”, “Hernando’s Hideaway”, and “Steam Heat”.

This morning on Larry’s Look, we got a look at a dress rehearsal for the show, which features a big cast and crew.

The ensemble was performing “Steam Heat”, which included some great choreography!  Later, Larry even joined-in during one of the “romantic” scenes!
