Johnson and Wales University has become a major part of the Charlotte community, and the school is offering something really special for area students. It’s their Chef’s Choice Summer Camp for kids and teens. Designed for ages 10-17, these five hour classes combine education, skill development, demonstrations and hands-on cooking.
This morning on Larry’s Look, we got an inside look at the camp and visited some of the classes. He checked-out several groups that were being taught by some of the top chefs at Johnson and Wales. One group was actually in the process producing over 1,000 cookies! Larry joined in to help, and then got a first hand look at baking bread, including the proper procedure of putting the bread dough in a giant oven.
