CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- When you want to go all out for Halloween, Larry found just the place. He visited Morris Costumes in Charlotte. It’s been around since the mid-60’s. Owner Greg James calls it the “Halloween Hub” and says you can find just about anything you could dream of for Halloween.
Some of the most popular costumes this year, according to James, are Day of the Dead characters. He says the holiday is popular in Latin America and it’s gaining popularity here too. He also sold a lot of Can Can Dancer and Ringmaster costumes this year.
As for the kids, a lot of this year’s sales depend on what’s popular on TV and in the movies. Some of the most popular ones this year are the Avenger costumes. James says some of the classics are always big sellers noting characters like Batman and Superman.
Larry even found a costume if you want to dress up like NBC Charlotte Sports Director Chris Clark. He calls it the Chris Clark Starter Kit because it is a cap that goes over the hair to make the person wearing it appear bald.
Of course Larry couldn’t resist the mask section. He noted that there were masks from every single horror movie he’s ever seen. He even tried on the Frankenstein mask for fun. You wouldn’t expect anything less from Larry, would you?
