Chris joined the NBC Charlotte sports team in September of 2012 as Sports Director. He comes to Charlotte after spending two years in Atlanta working for the FOX station and unsuccessfully trying to become a member of the Braves bullpen and a two-guard for the Hawks.
Chris has been into sports of all kinds his entire life. You name it he’s done it, maybe not very well but according to Chris sometimes those are the most fun. He’s never broken 100 on a golf course but loves to play. Wherever they let him in again that is.
He was born and raised just south of Washington, D.C in Prince Georges County, Maryland and can easily be talked into coming to any event provided hard shell crabs will be served. He started school at Wingate College (yes College not University) but graduated from Bowie State University. True story, he has a B.S from B.S.U. look it up.
During his free time Chris enjoys traveling, sampling different cuisine, going to games, eating new desserts and working out so he can still fit into his suits. He’s a huge baseball fan and is convinced he could have made it beyond college if not for the steroid era in MLB and off speed pitches and guys that throw 90-plus and if you haven’t figured out by now never takes himself too seriously.
His hard work has earned Chris an Edward R. Murrow award, 11 Emmy's, over 30 Associated Press Awards and a National Clarion Award.
The only thing he enjoys more than sports is spending time with his lovely wife Tiffanne.
He is happy to call Charlotte home and always welcoming new members in the “Lookin’ at you” Nation.
Feel free to send Chris a photo with the “Lookin’ at you” pose and drop him a line with any story ideas you have.
