CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- “Tricking”---it’s an extreme sport that’s only been around since the late ‘90s. Tricking mixes gymnastics, martial arts, and acrobatics.

The ultimate goal is to create an aesthetic blend of kicks, twists, and flips.  There’s actually of big group of “trickers” in the Charlotte area.

Tonight there’s a major event called “UnresTRICKted”.  This is an international tricking competition, with over 100 athletes demonstrating their unique skills at Halton Arena on the CPCC campus near uptown Charlotte. Trickers of all ages will be involved in this very unique style of athletics.

This morning on Larry’s Look, the organizer of the competition brought a team of trickers to the NBC Charlotte outdoor patio.

Joe Granieri is also the owner of Urban Revolution Martial Arts and has taught some of the top trickers in the country.

The team demonstrated some of the most popular moves, some as young as nine years old.  Larry even had quick lesson in tricking---right into the camera!
