CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- World class winners have a great place to train….right here in Charlotte.

Current and future Olympic swimmers train at SwimMac, with some of the best coaches in the world.

That includes David Marsh, former head swimming coach at Auburn University.  Since 1986, many of those who trained at SwimMac  compete at the Charlotte UltraSwim.

Names like Michael Phelps, Ricky Berens, Ryan Lochte, and Allison Schmitt have competed.  The competition actually takes place at the Mecklenburg Aquatic Center in uptown Charlotte.  Earlier this year, twenty-two Olympic medal winners competed at the Charlotte UltraSwim.

This morning on Larry’s Look, two of the sports up and coming stars were in our studios.  Eric Knight and Madison Kennedy dropped-by to talk about how important Charlotte has become to the elite swimmers of the world.

Both spoke about their individual careers, plus their prospects for competition in the Olympics in 2016.  Madison and Eric also had something very special to discuss---a brand new calendar featuring swimmers who train and compete right here in Charlotte.

“The Swimming Calendar” features twelve of those athletes.  The purpose of the calendar is to grow the sport, help the swimmers, and give back to the community.

The calendar is on sale right now and can be purchased through the website:  www.swimmercalendar.com.
