CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Holly Robinson Peete is an actress, singer, talk-show host, writer, and mostly importantly -- a wife and mom.
She's known for her roles in 21 Jump Street, Hangin'with Mr. Cooper, and For Your Love. Peete also served as one of the original co-hosts of daytime show The Talk.
Peete's children's book, My Brother Charlie, won her an NAACP Image Award for "Outstanding Literary Work" in 2011.
She's married to former NFL quarterback Rodney Peete. They have four children, including a son with autism.
It's her concern about autism and other disabilities that recently brought her to Charlotte. Holly was the guest speaker at the annual Dream Maker Luncheon.
The event is presented by InReach. The organization provides innovative housing, employment, and community services to support people with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities.
On Larry's Look this morning, Holly was in our studios to talk about the luncheon and her passion for helping those with disabilities.
She also talked about her career in television and her future plans in the business. Holly also spoke about her love of Charlotte...going back to the time her husband played for the Panthers!
