CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Our guests this morning on Larry’s Look were Jim Cantore and Leslie Chapman-Henderson.

When Jim shows up, you know the weather is going to get interesting. Jim's passion for field reporting during extreme weather events is well known.

Whether it's "thunder snow", an ice storm, tornado chasing or a category 5 hurricane, there is no place Jim would rather be than right in the "eye of the storm."

Leslie Chapman-Henderson is President and CEO of the Federal Alliance for Safe Homes, the country’s leading consumer advocate for strengthening homes and safeguarding families from natural and manmade disasters.

Every year, weather ranging from flooding to winter cold and heat waves impact people all over the country. As weather patterns change, it’s more important than ever to know how to prepare.

The two of them talked about StormStruck, an interactive, multi-faceted exhibit.  It has a feature, called the Storm Chamber---which simulates the power of a virtual 4D storm. It’s complete with wind, rain, lightning, and some surprising special effects.

Cantore also talked about the current winter across the United States and its historical impact on people in almost every state.
