CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Scott Rigsby was an 18-year-old high school football player in July 1986, when an accident changed the course of his life.
Riding in the back of a trailer that was clipped from behind by an 18-wheeler, Rigsby was dragged 328 feet, and eventually pinned under the trailer he was riding in.
He lost both of his legs and had 26 surgeries.
He suffered through years of depression, fear, anxiety and prescription drug addiction. At one point, things were so bad Scott sold what little furniture he had, just to pay the rent.
“Unthinkable” is the true story of how he completely turned his life around, reaching the level of a world-class athlete.
Rigsby stopped-by our studios this morning and told his amazing story on Larry’s Look. Scott is in the area for the 3rd Annual Do the Unthinkable 5K in Hickory.
He’s a guest of Frye Regional Medical Center and will be there to speak and take part in the event.
