CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Make-A-Wish grants the wish of a child diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition, on average, every 38 minutes.

The organization believes that a wish experience can be a real game-changer.  That belief has inspired Make-A-Wish to grant wishes that changes the lives of kids everyday.

Walasia Vinson of Shelby was the "Wish Child" for Macy's Believe Day on  December 6th.  She  collected thousands of  letters to Santa, addressed to the North Pole, she took on that day.

For every letter,  Macy's donated $2 to Make-A-Wish.

This morning on Larry’s Look, we met this Walasia, who’s a 13-year-old cancer survivor.  She actually said that she didn’t ask Santa for anything.

Her reply: “I have everything, a loving family and God on my side.”

What Walasia did get, was her special day at Macy’s and a cruise to the Caribbean--along with her mom and dad.
