CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- On NBC’s new “The Michael J. Fox Show”, Michael is Mike Henry. He’s New York’s most popular local news anchor.
But after developing Parkinson’s disease, he decides to retire and deal with his health issues and spend more time with his family. After five years, the stay at home dad decides to go back on the air---after a lot of public outcry and a nice offer from his old station.
Larry Goes Hollywood continued this morning on NBC Charlotte Today. Larry sat down and spoke with Michael about his new show.
Fox says that he lives a life of optimism and determination. From seeking a cure for Parkinson's to returning to TV with his own sitcom, he knows that if you focus on what's possible and thinkable, you can achieve greatness.
Michael spoke about the challenges of living with Parkinson’s and how the disease was incorporated into the plot of the new show.
He says the focus is not really on the condition but how a person can function in everyday life with their own set of issues or disabilities.
