Authorities will close a portion of Interstate 40 in Davie County for a third straight night to allow construction of a bridge over the highway.
The state Department of Transportation has closed the interstate on Tuesday and Wednesday nights between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. The shutdown is west of Winston-Salem.
Motorists using I-40 west of Winston-Salem are advised to exit westbound lanes at N.C. 801, exit 180. At the top of exit ramp, go through the stoplight and cross onto the entrance ramp for I-40 West.
For eastbound motorists, drivers should use exit 180, and at the top of the ramp, go right around the traffic circle to the entrance ramp for I-40 East.
