The Marine Corps' 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force is getting a new sergeant major.
Sgt. Maj. Carl R. Green will relieve Sgt. Maj. Ronald D. Himsworth as the most senior enlisted Marine in the unit Friday during a ceremony at Camp Lejeune.
Himsworth became the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) sergeant major in July 2006. He is retiring after 32 years in the Marine Corps.
Green formerly served as the 2nd Marine Logistics Group sergeant major. After the ceremony, he will be one of three sergeants major of a Marine expeditionary force. The other two are MEFs based at Camp Pendleton, Calif. and Okinawa, Japan.
