Hand-held diagnostic is just what the mechanic ordered

May 16, 2006

By TERRY BOX / The Dallas Morning News

I'm not particularly happy about being stuck in the 21st century. It's way too modern for me.

But every now and then, someone develops a neat device for dealing with the aught-aughts – or whatever this decade is called.

The hand-held diagnostic tool sells for $89.99

For $89.99, CarMD sells a mobile, hand-held diagnostic tool that can monitor a car's engine and is supposedly tied to a large online database with enough information to help you fix a modern car – no small feat.

This is not an endorsement, mind you.

I don't have any experience with this product.

But if you're brave enough to try it, there's more information at CarMD.com.
