ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — John Kerry is about to make the rounds on the talk shows. He's been booked for interviews on "Dr. Phil," "Live with Regis and Kelly" and "The Late Show with David Letterman."

A Kerry spokeswoman says it's being done to reach out to people "who might not be paying attention just to nightly news."

His campaign hopes it will also impress upon viewers that Kerry likes the same things as other Americans: sports, family, jokes and fast food.

Kerry's interview with Dr. Phil McGraw will be taped Saturday and will also feature Teresa Heinz Kerry.

McGraw has already taped a show with President Bush and the first lady that will air later.
