Seattle native Apolo Anton Ohno won't compete in the 2014 Sochi Olympics.

"I think it's pretty sure at this point [that a comeback is] not going to be," Ohno said in an interview with Sports Illustrated's Nick Zaccardi. "It was always in the back of my head. I just didn't want to rule it out."

Instead, Ohno will work as a correspondent for NBC next February in Russia.

He is America's most decorated Winter Olympian. Between Salt Lake, Torino, and Vancouver, he captured eight medals, including two golds. Since 2001, Ohno has won eight world championship titles.

More recently, Ohno has starred on TV--as a competitor on Dancing with the Stars and a host for NBC's "Minute to Win It" for the Game Show Network.
