CHARLOTTE, N.C. – With only a few days before the A.C.C. Football Championship at Charlotte’s Bank of America stadium, it appears there are thousands of empty seats left.
The last two A.C.C. championships, also in Charlotte, had sell-out crowds.
Ticketing website StubHub advertised having more than 8,000 tickets to Saturday’s game, featuring Florida State versus Georgia Tech, going for as little as $3.95 a piece.
For comparison, the S.E.C. championship game in Atlanta Saturday has only 2,000 tickets left, selling for a minimum of $320 each.
Businesses in uptown remain optimistic about the crowds.
“I don't think we're worried about it. I think we'll be packed still. Even though all the tickets haven't sold out like they have in the past years,” said Jennifer McDade, server and cook at Picasso’s Sports Bar.
McDade believes the bar will see more patrons than it sees on a Panthers’ home game.
“It will still be bigger than a Panthers gameday, because there are so many people coming outta town for this.”
Fans will be entertained by a day-long FanFest at the stadium during the day before kick-off Saturday nigh.t
