CONCORD, N.C. -- "Every day when I walk in the shop and see these guys working really hard, it's a really good feeling,” says Nationwide Series driver Alex Bowman, “It definitely feels like I've made it to one of the top levels in the sport."
It certainly didn’t take 20-year-old Alex Bowman long; he's been racing for 13 years now, and is already racing Nationwide full-time for RAB racing.
"I've always kind of been the younger kid," says Bowman, "It's something I've always dealt with and don't really tend to think about."
Young or not, the Tucson, Arizona, native has had success already with a top 10 and a top five this season. That best finish came in the first race of the season, too, at Daytona where he finished third.
The new driver gives all the credit to his new team.
"It proved that they did a really good job in the offseason and definitely got the season started on the right foot," Bowman expressed.
Things haven't always been easy though, as to be expected in NASCAR. But Bowman thinks that first win could be right around the corner.
"I'm just really excited to move forward," says Bowman, "We're consistently getting better; we just have to put a whole race together to really show what we've got."
It can be hard to be patient in this sport. Bowman is as anxious as ever to get to victory lane, but he's enjoying the wild ride in the meantime.
"It's been a lot of fun, and I definitely wouldn't trade it for the world."
