CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Patrick Ewing says he's not angry about being passed over again this year for another NBA head coaching job.
The 50-year-old Ewing says it's only going to make him work that much harder to realize his ultimate goal.
Ewing says while it "every now and again I'm discouraged" being passed over for openings for less experienced candidates, he's staying positive in hopes that one day the cards will fall his way.
In the meantime Ewing is treating every experience as an assistant as a chance to learn -- including his latest job as the associate head coach of the Charlotte Bobcats.
He is the second in command under first-year head coach and long-time colleague Steve Clifford.
Ewing has twice interviewed for head coaching vacancies -- with Charlotte and Detroit.
