CONCORD, N.C. -- NASCAR fans are in high gear this weekend, ready for the Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The race is Saturday night, but folks at Tom Johnson Camp Ground, near the track, are ready for action.
Many of the RVs are equipped with all the comforts of home, one even including a full size tiki bar and blow up pool. Fans come from all over the nation and many come back year-after-year for this one weekend in NASCAR.
However, they tell NBC Charlotte, it's not just about the race, but about what happens off the track, as well.
Rick Parker is from Brunswick, Georgia. He brings his two buddies for a road trip every spring.
"It's kind of like a big family here, everybody just comes. It's just the atmosphere," he said.
Tom Kendrick of Gastonia is a local, but says he enjoys meeting the out of towners.
"It's just meeting people from different states, and, you know, talking racing. A lot of old time racing, we talk about."
The Speedway gates open at 3 p.m. Friday. The All-Star race kicks off at 7:30 Saturday night.
