FORT MILL, S.C. – A pair of Charlotte Knight represented the club on a national stage Wednesday night at the Triple-A All-Star game.

Right-handed pitcher Shane Lindsay and outfielder Dayan Viciedo played for the International League All-Star Team at Spring Mobile Ballpark in Salt Lake City, Utah home of the Salt Lake Bees.

Viciedo went 1-4 in the International League’s 3-0 win.  Lindsay walked two batters in 2/3 of an inning in relief.

At the break, the Knights (45-47) are just two games under .500 under the direction of first-year manager Joe McEwing.

“ I love Charlotte.  It’s a great town, a great city,” McEwing said.  “I’m very fortunate the White Sox gave me this opportunity to come in and be the manager.”
A former major leaguer, McEwing is making the most of his time in Charlotte.  This is his fourth season as a coach in the Chicago White Sox system.

McEwing credit's his success as a manager to his experience as a player.

“I’ve been in their shoes.  The young guys trying to get to the big leagues for the first time. The veteran guys trying to get back to the big leagues,” McEwing said.  “I’ve been in both situations.”

The Knights take on the Louisville Bats (49-43) Thursday night.  And McEwing will get back to pushing the same objectives with his players that he always does.

“My main goal is to get guys ready for Chicago, and I’m going to try to put them in the best position to be successful,” McEwing said.  “I know what they are going through.”
