CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- We are just days away from the first-ever opening day at the brand new Knights Stadium in uptown.

The team’s general manager, Scotty Brown, says, "It's an exciting time-- we're getting this place ready for the opening. Opening day is a special time no matter what, but opening a new ballpark in a beautiful city like Charlotte, it just adds icing to the cake."

NBC Charlotte took a tour of the stadium. There are more than 10,000 seats and lots of different options

Brown said, "I think it's the intimacy of this ballpark that makes it so special."

There's home run porch, complete with a bar.

"We see a lot of balls flying out of there it’s also a great area to watch the game and perhaps catch that home run ball that could be historic."

There is also a picnic area, a luxury lounge and out in left field, a great place for families and kids to hang out.

"There's a big hill over there great for families to sit down and take in America’s pastime."

Depending on where you want to see the game, ticket prices range from $8 to $18 and the GM promises they'll be ready to play ball next week.

"Our fans are gonna pour in, a sellout crowd and we want to show them the best time they've ever had in sports."
