A North Carolina bill looking out for the health of newborns will be heard by the senate healthcare committee on Wednesday.

Panthers’ tight-end Greg Olsen is an advocate for the bill.

It would require hospitals to screen newborns for heart conditions.

Olsen's son TJ was born with a life-threatening heart defect that doctors caught in the nick of time.

NBC Charlotte will follow the progress of the bill and let you know what happens.
