CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Panthers veteran wide receiver Steve Smith missed practice Wednesday to see a doctor about an infection in his left foot. Smith missed practice Sunday as well but was had been on the practice field Monday.
Coach Ron Rivera said he didn't know exactly what was wrong with Smith's foot but that he didn't think it was anything serious. He said he would know more after meeting with the Panthers' medical staff.
Smith is entering his 12th year with the Panthers. He is the clubs' all-time leader in total touchdowns (67), receptions (699) and receiving yards (10,278). Last season, he became the 35th player in NFL history to amass 10,000 receiving yards.
