CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) -- North Carolina finally turned in the kind of all-around performance coach Larry Fedora has been hoping to see.
Heading into a rivalry game with North Carolina State, the Tar Heels need to follow up with another good showing if they have any chance to regroup from a 1-5 start.
In the 34-10 win against Boston College, the Tar Heels avoided turnovers for the first time this year and allowed their lowest point total of the season. They also allowed 59 passing yards, the fewest allowed by UNC since 1997.
Fedora said Monday his team has "started to make some progress" while linebacker Jeff Schoettmer there was some relief after the win.
Schoettmer says the focus now is winning out and securing a bowl bid.
