Charlotte Knights win season opener 6-5

ROCK HILL, S.C. -  Better a night late than never. The Charlotte Knights 2012 regular season opener was rained out Thursday night. Friday night it went the way of Charlotte. The Knights tallied five runs during their first two at bats in route to a 6-5 victory over the Norfolk Tides.  The Charlotte offense accounted for eleven hits. Catcher Josh Phegley had three of  them. Dallas McPherson and Hector Gimenez accounted for four of the Knights six runs. The two teams will resume their three game series Saturday night. First pitch is set for 5:15.
