FORT MILL, S.C. -- Former Charlotte Knights catcher Tyler Flowers has been named to the Topps Double-A All-Star Team. Flowers, 23, hit .302 with 13 homers and 43 RBI for the Birmingham Barons.
The catcher added 18 doubles and .993 OPS, before earning a promotion to Triple-A in July. The Chicago White Sox, who obtained him as part of a December 2009 trade with Atlanta, then brought him up to the Majors in September.
Flowers hit .286 in 31 games with the Knights. He a home run in his first game with Charlotte, which was also his first career game at the Triple-A level. He finished with two home runs, 10 doubles and 13 RBI with the Knights.
