CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Members of the Charlotte Knights spent the day helping out at the Men's Shelter of Charlotte.
Staff members prepared and served lunch for 200 people.
The Knights organization volunteers at the shelter on a monthly basis, and they also provide monetary donations and hold product drives.
"It is very rewarding, obviously. As the saying goes it is better to give than to receive, sometimes,” said Mark Smith, the Knights Vice President of Marketing. “I think we get more reward out of giving, than the receiving part. But it is fulfilling when somebody does thank you."
The Knights open the season April 5.
