LOUISVILLE, KY – The Louisville Bats slugged three home runs and received a solid pitching performance from Chad Reineke en route to a 4-2 win over the Charlotte Knights in the finale of their four-game series on Sunday. Sunday’s loss was Charlotte’s second straight.

Mike Constanzo, Denis Phipps, and Cody Puckett hit solo home runs for Louisville in the victory.

Puckett’s seventh inning home run off of Charlotte reliever Daniel Moskos (2-3, 3.70) broke a 2-2 tie. It proved to be the game-winner.

Reineke (5-7, 4.35) allowed two runs on eight hits over seven innings for the win.

Dewayne Wise added two hits and an RBI for the Knights in the defeat. Drew Garcia chipped in with an RBI and Dan Johnson, Hector Gimenez, and Tyler Kuhn all had two hits apiece.

RHP Charlie Shirek started for the Knights and allowed two runs on five hits over six innings. Shirek, who was vying for his 11th win of the season, did not factor in the decision. He walked two and struck-out three.

The game started one hour and 24 minutes late due to rain.

Second place Norfolk also lost on Sunday, which means the Knights held their seven-game lead in the International League South Division. The Knights will now make the trek to Indianapolis to face the Indianapolis Indians in a four-game series beginning on Monday. The Indians are in first place in the IL West Division. First pitch of Monday's game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
