FORT MILL, S.C. -- USA Baseball and the Charlotte Knights announce that the 2010 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team and the Korean Collegiate National Team will play at Knights Stadium in Fort Mill, S.C., on July 16, 2010, at 7:15 p.m.

The game will be part of the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team’s summer exhibition schedule before it participates in international competition. Team USA’s major event this summer is the season-ending FISU World University Baseball Championships in Japan, July 29-Aug. 9.
The Collegiate Team last visited Fort Mill in 2007. The team of now-current MLB prospects Pedro Alvarez, Brian Matusz, Justin Smoak and current Knights outfielder Jordan Danks led China, 6-0, when the game was called in the third inning due to weather.
“We are excited to bring the Collegiate National Team back to Knights Stadium,” said Paul Seiler, USA Baseball Executive Director/CEO. “Fans in Fort Mill are among the best in the country, and they always make us feel at home when our team is in town.”
The USA Baseball Collegiate National Team is made up of the top non-draft-eligible collegiate baseball players in the country. Players who have worn the red, white, and blue for the Collegiate Team and have gone on to Major League Baseball success include such notables as Nomar Garciaparra (1992), Ryan Howard (2000), Dustin Pedroia (2002-03), David Price (2005-06), Huston Street (2002-03), Mark Teixeira (2000), and Jason Varitek (1996).
